3. Resistance bands
4. Foam roller
5. Dumbbells
When choosing a yoga mat look for a non slip surface. Nothing ruins a yoga practice more than dealing with hands and feet sliding on your mat. Look for a stability ball that is the correct size for your height. I am 5’3” (almost) and use a 55cm ball. Make sure it is non-burst. Resistance bands come in different strengths but do look for the kind with the cover over the band (in case it snaps) and comfortable handles. I recommend a medium tension band for general use. Foam rollers help smooth out tight muscles and allow the body to open up just by lying on it. Get a couple of pairs of dumbbells to work on building some muscle (maybe a set of 8# and a set of 10# or more). The adjustable dumbbells allow you to choose a weight from 5 to 50 pounds. Pretty cool!
Remember you probably have a set of stairs to run and your own body weight is great resistance too.
Stay active and safe everyone,
Jill
