What is the 10-20-30 workout?
Created as a high-intensity workout meant to increase heart rate, while still leaving enough recovery time, so it can be EASILY done by runners who are not highly trained. Truly a workout for everyone.
To Begin:
- Runners warm up with 1K of running at a low intensity BEFORE starting these intervals:
- 30 seconds: Easy jogging
- 20 seconds: Moderate Intensity, or regular running pace
- 10 seconds: Sprint
Repeat these intervals 5 times in a row, with no rest, so it adds up to a 5 minute continuous interval.
Then take a 2 minute jog recovery and repeat the whole set 3 to 4 times.
If you are looking to drop your mileage while still enjoying increased health and performance benefits, or are simply looking for a new and fun interval workout, the 10-20-30 workout could be a great addition to your program.
