This weekend is thanksgiving and the weather looks to be ideal to enjoy a fall hike before sitting down to the feast that goes along with the holiday. We are lucky to have the Royal Botanical Gardens close by so check out the arboretum trail system off Olympic Drive in Dundas. Another beautiful hike is Rattlesnake Point (just be careful you don't fall off).
Here is a challenge for you...plan your Thanksgiving dinner with eating local or as you may know it by the 100 mile diet. The concept is you use ingredients grown within 100 miles of your home. On that note, let's support our local farmers by shopping for farm fresh produce at one of the many farmers markets in the area. Locally you can visit the Burlington Mall Farmers market on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays or for a farm experience check out Thorpe's Organic Produce Market at 811 Millgrove Side Road in Millgrove on Sundays.
Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving Everyone!
