The weather is on our side

We are moving right along with the renovation.  We now have walls and ceilings.  Taping is happening right now so that means dust will follow.  I am so thankful for the warm weather we are enjoying this week.  Ok, it was a bit chilly on Monday morning at 7am at the park.  Yes, we did see frost.  You guys are troopers!

My new spin bike is here and ready to go when the gym is ready.  Still waiting on some dumbbells and a few other things but we are in good shape.

The fall really is the best time of the year to start the Learn To Run Program.  You can follow a weekly schedule and go from couch to 5k in 10 weeks.  This program starts out with 1 minute of brisk walking and 1 minute of easy running to be repeated 6 times.  Finish with 2 minutes of running.  Total minutes run is 8.  Anyone can do this, so why not give it a try.  The weather is on your side.

We will continue with our current schedule of classes - Monday pilates mat 9am (Zoom), Tuesday and Thursday body weight conditioning 8am (Hidden Valley Park or Zoom if there is poor weather), Wednesday yoga/fusion 7pm (Zoom) and Thursday pilates mat 6pm (Zoom).

To learn more about the learn to run or classes or personal training just message or call me.

I’ll be back next week with an update on the gym.  Keep moving everyone!

New workout, and (almost) a new studio

Hello everyone,

Here's an update on the renovation...demo is complete.  We now have a wide open space completely gutted including the bathroom.  This week has been fun with choosing flooring, paint and bathroom tiles. Yes, it's true that too many options will keep you up at night.  I just ordered several sets of dumbbells, 3 new TRX's systems and I am on the search for a spin bike.  Rest assured everyone, the Pilates reformers WILL fit through the basement window if the stairs don't work.  Phew!

Currently, classes and personal training sessions continue in the park, on Zoom or in your home gym. The schedule for the next couple of weeks is the following: Monday pilates mat/ball 9am (Zoom), Tuesday and Thursday body weight conditioning (in the park or Zoom), Wednesday yoga/fusion 7pm (on Zoom) and Thursday pilates mat/ ball 6pm (on Zoom).  If you want to join me please send me a message.

I am planning a new workout for this week that I will call the Fab 5. It is simply 5 exercises...

  • Pushups
  • Dips (or pull-ups)
  • Squats
  • Plank with toe taps
  • Russian twist

Complete 5 reps of each with a 5 second hold on the last rep followed by 50 second recovery.  Repeat 4 more rounds to total 5 rounds.  Remember to warm-up and stretch afterwards.  Enjoy!!!

Next week, schedule will be open for personal training, partner training, trio training and small group training in my new (beautiful) studio.

Cheers,

Jill

Renovation time!

We have a timeline now for our gym renovation...demo starts the end of August and I hope to be up and running 3 weeks after.

The cardio space will have a treadmill and a stationary bike, TRX suspension training systems, dumbbells, kettlebells and plenty of other toys.  You will not be bored!

The pilates area will have 2 reformers.  I have managed to find a new type of strap made out of PVC and vinyl that is easy to clean.  I will be replacing the original straps with these new ones.  Keeping everyone safe!!

We had a couple friends over for an outdoor distancing lunch and I tried out a new, healthy recipe by Ella Mills (see below).  It’s Crunchy Taco-Salad with Avocado-Lime Dressing.  Check it out and I promise you will not even miss the meat.

Get inspired and watch Zac Efron's travel documentary called Down To Earth on Netflix.  It may change the way you think about the water you drink, where your vegetables come from, and how we can help the earth and our environment. 4/5 stars from us!

Outdoor classes and zoom classes resume on Monday August 10 with pilates mat at 9am,
Tuesday and Thursday body weight conditioning at Hidden Valley Park at 8am, Wednesday 7pm fusion (yoga) on zoom and Thursday pilates mat at 6pm on zoom.  Message me to reserve your spot.

Keep moving and grooving everyone,

Jill
