The lifestyle change you need to make

While driving back from Ellicottville I often listen to podcasts and wanted to share one I recently heard.  The topic was “Does Eating 6 Small Meals A Day Help With Weight Loss” by Nutrition DivaResearch shows that eating 6 smaller meals per day doesn’t result in more weight loss than eating 3 average meals per day. The reason being, 6 small meals (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack) is that “small” isn’t actually “small”. People who eat more than 3 times a day weigh more than those who don’t follow that lifestyle. I have changed my thinking on this and will now be advising my clients to stick to 3 meals per day and if they feel they need a small snack between meals then to make it a fruit, veggie or a handful of nuts. The bottom line is that you should feel hungry for your next meal and your metabolism will run smoothly.  

Count nutrients not calories
